We've been ordering from here for the past couple of years and it has been our go to place for Chinese food. The last 3 times it has been bad. The chicken appears very old, gray and overcooked. The crab-cheese wontons have been cooked to the point where there is nothing left inside. We ate it tonight because we were hungry and paid $35 for it though we were wondering the whole time if we should. We'll take a break from this place for a few months and hope they get it together. It used to be good.

The food was REALLY bad. I ordered the teriyaki chicken sticks. They tasted like they were only marinated in vinegar and noting else; they were also so overcooked I thought I was eating jerky. My main dish was also inundated with vinegar, and had no other taste. I threw it all away... and I never do that. This restaurant does not even deserve 1 star. Unfortunately, this was take out and I was at work so I could not return it.

Terrible service. Ordered online via Eat Street, waited 45 minutes for food, didn't come. Called restaurant and they claimed they had just received my order. I have never had an issue with Eat Street before so found that hard to believe. Received no apology, no compensation and still waiting for food more than an hour after initially ordering.

We get takeout from Mandarin Bistro fairly regularly. It's always awesome and they go above and beyond to get us what we want, even if it's not on the menu.

Don't go here, have ate here for nearly 10 years and the restaurant recently changed ownership. The food now SUCKS! Complained to the new owner who assured us that they were just having an off night, but when we tried again 3 weeks later it was just awful. Some things are still good like the egg/spring rools, soup, crab wontons, but all our entrees have ultimately been half eaten and then thrown away. Obvious they are cutting corners now since the to-go containers have changed to the cheapest ones they could evidently find; Styrofoam for the soup, cardboard Chinese take-out for everything else. Used to be nice plastic trays with tight fitting lids so nothing leaked. AGAIN, DON'T EAT HERE, NOT THE RESTAURANT IT USED TO BE.

So disappointing. Where do I start? APPARENTLY they're under new ownership. Which means that if you want to place a delivery order for Lunch you now have to meet a $15 minimum (even if you're less than two blocks away) [they did offer a $5!!!!! delivery charge, so I guess that's their idea of customer service]). They will argue with you on what you ordered, tell you that you're wrong. The drunken noodles is probably one of the only good things you can really get from this place. Their customer service is absolutely terrible and their brown rice is just weak. Barely any decent options with tofu either, but I guess that's my fault for being a vegan in Colorado. Pass.

HORRIBLE! I use to love the food here, but whoever owns it now CAN'T COOK! I got the sweet & sour shrimp, well the shrimp was literally burned beyond recognition (one side on all of them was actually black & hard as a rock). Also got the beef with garlic sauce, also very disgusting (the taste was way off, seasoning or something, but was not good) & also got eggrolls. They were greasy & real bad taste. Even the sweet & sour sauce was nasty! how do you mess up sweet & sour sauce????? It was a real darkish red color & tasted way off! I read the recent Yelp reviews about how bad it had become but I never had an issue (but has been quite some time since I have ordered, before new ownership apparently) so I gave them a chance. $25 down the drain as it all had to be thrown out :( SAVE YOURSELF MONEY, DON'T GO HERE!

I was looking for delivery Chinese food one night and this was one of the few that would deliver. I didn't have high expectations, but this was pretty bad. I ordered chicken lo mein along with some pork fried rice. Both dishes were excessively greasy (even for delivery Chinese) to the point it was gross. The rice was so overcooked that you could hardly taste any of the flavor and the egg had turned a gray color from the over cooking. The pork mixed into the rice was overly salty and I ended up throwing the dish away. The lo mein was better than the fried rice, but overall it was greasy with very little flavor. I can't recommend Mandarin Bistro at this time.

What a waste of money. We threw out $35 worth of food tonight. The chicken tasted like fish sauce, the beef had a sour after taste, even the wantons tasted old and hard. We usually get food from shangrala but they do not deliver so we decided to order delivery from somewhere close. NEVER AGAIN. We have not ordered from here in a while and we remember now why we stopped. Food use to be very good but has taken a drastic nose dive. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I normally really enjoy this place! Today must have been an off day. The steamed rice was undercooked, and there was a STAPLE in my beef and broccoli! I called and they sent me another order about 45 minutes later. I gave the delivery guy, who was extremely nice, the other order back. When I opened the new order, I was disappointed to see that the broccoli was undercooked. Sigh. They still have some of the best crab rangoon ever! Even though I have several Chinese food recipes that are quite good, sometimes you want someone else to do the cooking. I might order from them again. I don't know.

Alright, it's decided. I'm never going here again. Like I said in my previous review, inconsistent service every time. But it's more bad than good, and tonight.. It was BAD. THis is the most flavorless Chinese food I've had in my life. "Fried rice" is just hard brown rice with no egg, peas, carrot, etc. You have to drown your lo mein in soy sauce for it to have flavor. The egg rolls were very stringy and had an off taste to them. The dumplings tasted like canned dog food. 1/10. Would not recommend.

Used to be our favorite Chinese place. New ownership is horrible. Entire menu tastes different despite them saying they didn't change anything. New food tasted terrible I couldn't eat any of it. We threw out $40 worth of Chinese food. They also can't make most of their stuff without msg unlike previous owners. I complained about Lomien said I asked for no msg and it clearly tastes like msg. (I have bad reactions that send me to the hospital with un controllable blood pressure when I eat excessive msg). Also asked for no vegetables for my kids Lomien and no msg but clearly had msg and vegetables. The new owner said everything always has msg and basically laughed when I asked for my money back. He wanted me to drive all the food back and would refund it only if it was un touched (obviously we served everyone on plates already so it was touched). We switched to Tsing Tao House. Check them out if you are looking for a new place they are awesome.

This chinese food is horrible. I have low expectations and they went above and beyond to come in beneith even those. I ordered lemon chicken, they said it was fried, so I changed my order to mandarin chicken. They brought me teriyaki chicken instead. It was gross and was the same bad sauce as the chicken and broccoli that my friend ordered. Do not order from here.

The delivery is usually hot and fresh. Some of the best Chinese in the Springs. However, the last time we ordered it was not as good? I'm hoping it was an off day. The quality and taste have always been good the other four times we had delivery.

We went back to this place about a week ago for takeout. This time around, the food was very much better. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. It all tasted fresh and good. The sesame chicken had a nice crisp, had large pieces of chicken, and just the right amount of tartness versus sweetness. The three other dishes we ordered we good too. Fresh made with fresh vegetables. I hope they can maintain the quality when we go back again in a couple of weeks.

I agree with Duke, definitely the best takeout/delivery in Briargate. I usually get the Thai food, which is super yummy. Good portions for the price. For $15 I will have food to feed me for at least 2 days or more. Meat is usually good quality, plenty of fresh veggies. Delivery is free and is in a decent 5 mile radius. Not much to look at when you go eat there, but the quality was very surprising to me. My go to delivery place.

Horrible service these people lack customer service bad. Decent food, but the customer service ruined it all. Be warned they are that bad!

Quality food in generous portions. I like the general tsao's chicken though it's less citrus-y than many places prepare it. Fairly spicy without sacrificing flavor. Nice that they actually add some veggies into the mix. They also add a maraschino cherry on their beef skewers, not something I've seen before, but definitely unique. Beyond that, its most of the tradition chinese food you can find anywhere. If you can't handle spicy foods though, be sure to read the menu carefully, several of the entrees pack quite a punch. The actual restaurant itself is pretty small, so I tend to stick with delivery or takeout. If your location is nearby and your order is at least fifteen bucks, they don't charge for delivery.

I ordered a delivery order at 6:45pm and was told they would deliver in an hour. At 7:50, I got a phone call, to tell me that they were out of part of my order. Now, I really don't care that they ran out of something, I know it happens, I'm a reasonable guy and I'd be happy to make a substitution. I asked how long it would take to get it to me. She said another 30 minutes after some hmmm-ing and hawww-ing, so I said cancel it. There was no offer to rush the already late order, no offer to give a price break, no "we are really sorry," nothing except a sob story about being really busy. Being busy is no excuse for lousy service. This was my first attempt at ordering from here and it will be my last. I recommend you avoid them.

I normally don't write scathing reviews on restaurants because theyre usually not this bad. BUT... My husband and I just ordered from this restaurant for take-out. As a Eurasian with Chinese heritage and recently returning from living in Japan, I'm always curious to try out Asian food in CS. The results were abysmal! The dumplings had no flavor or vegetables in it, my wonton soup was PINK, the chicken teriyaki looked like someone had flambé-ed a chicken wing on a stick and decided that to make it more appealing, stuck a pineapple cube and cherry on the end. The only saving grace was the General Tsao's chicken which my husband rated at a 3/5. THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is coming from a man who grew up in the countryside of Indiana and went to the only Chinese restaurant in that county! Not to mention, all of us including my children are showing beginning stages of upset stomachs from the food. Save your money and go elsewhere like Tong Tong.

This place is our go-to chinese takeout. Waaaaayyyyyy better than either PF Chang or Pei Wei. We haven't tried everything, but their fried rice, egg rolls, General Tsao's Chicken, and Sweet and Sour Pork and Chicken are consistently good. Vegetable Lo Mein is mediocre, but Chow Mein is excellent. We haven't found a better place in the Briargate area.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
